KangaReview has reached the beta stage. We are pre-round one venture capital and are currently entertaining opening the investment to the members rather than venture capital organisations.

The major issue of this approach is that the average member would invest small amounts, maybe only a few pounds/dollars, requiring a huge campaign to get the numbers required. Managing input from that many people in commercial terms would be a less efficient way to gain investment, the cost to borrow is much higher.

The benefit is when you look at these community based web sites, in the majority of instances there are a handful of people making serious money from the community's efforts. This would allow the community to develop and thrive, and some of the profits would go back to the community.
