I have recently acquired a 4.1 surround speaker system for my computer - it has a base unit subwoofer and four attractive speakers and the sound is great! You need a line out jack and a dual function line in rear channel jack. Your system should also support a rear channel feature (hardware and software) The speakers can be mounted or free standing (I have them all round the room) Its certainly worth considering
