I have been taught (by my son) to shop around when buying my car insurance - and every year I do just that. This year I got renewal details from Norwich Union and when I didn't reply immediately, a phone call from them. I told them I was negotiationg for a better deal elsewhere which I proceeded to do. A few days later they rang me again and matched the best deal I had found - so I stayed with them. I reduced their offer considerably - so its worth doing. Maybe your insurer will do that too - its worth a try! their customer service is good - I haven't had to use their 'i'm in trouble' service yet - I will let you know.
